February 14, 2008 Valentine's Day XOXOXOXOXOXO

Well it's been a crazy busy and long week here in Iowa, cold and snowy, and not fun! Did lots of shoveling though. Wanda's Update: Current Weight: 178lbs Weekly Loss: Gained 2lbs (I'm blaming this on retaining water weight, I really didn't want to weight myself this week, but had to, I knew I was gonna weight over, it's a woman thing damnit!!) I feel really bad for my teammate though! SORRY DAVE. Total Loss: 3lbs Best Accomplishment: None, I gained, but I guess since I gained and I'm still doing my diet, that would be my best accomplishment, usually I would've said, "ahh, this isn't working, why bother" Comments: We all have off weeks, why bother making excuses (even though I did make an excuse - that helped me feel better about gaining). As long as we're sticking to our plan, don't let the numbers get to you, just keep doing it, you'll eventually get there! I've gone a couple of weeks before with the scale not moving one bit, yet I feel more fit, and my clothes feel better. We're all different, and our bodies change differently. Just keep it going and your guaranteed to change. Dave's Update: Current Weight: 286lbs Weekly Loss: 2lbs Total Loss: 26lbs (WAY TO GO BUDDY!!!!) Best Accomplishment: My body is changing and its noticeable YEAH!!!! Comment: I was shooting for 40lbs gone at the end of 5 weeks, ended up at 39lbs., that's okay, 1 lbs off, I'm very proud of myself. (and Dave, I'm very proud of you to!!!)

WEEK 3 WEIGHT IN

These totals are as of Monday, February 4th Wanda's Update: Current Weight: 176lbs Weekly Loss: 2lbs Total Loss: 5lbs Best Accomplishment: I DID AWESOME THIS WEEK AND AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF I'M SHOUTING THIS OUT IN ALL CAPS HERE!!!! I've been doing the Jillian Michael's The Biggest Winner workout, both front & back side, and I absolutely LOVE that workout, she's tough, and the best. BOB ROCKS TOO!!! Dave's Update: Current Weight: 288lbs Weekly Loss: 5lbs Total Loss: 24lbs Best Accomplishment: Did ok at the Super Bowl party, he did not come home miserable as the past years, but yes, he did cheat a little (and don't feel bad if you do cheat, i usually just punish myself with a tougher workout after i catch myself cheating - my theroy is you gotta have a little delisciousness in your life from time to time, just don't over do it!!!! and there is such think as healthy and delicious, yeah you may not believe me, but there is:) Comments: Really starting to see the difference and by the way, I was a conversation piece at the Super Bowl part, hearing about how good I'm starting to look, it felt so good. WEEKLY INSPIRATIONS: Let's recap on Dave's comment about hearing from others how good he's looking, that's the best motivator in my opinion. It makes me go, "well just wait til you see me next, you'll be more shocked", then I try really hard to make sure that I do get the chance to shock them. My favorite thing, all the guys comments!! WOOT WOOT! Have a great week guys.

WEEK 2 WEIGHT IN

These figures are as of 1-28-08, I'm running a day late here.
 
Wanda's Update:
Current Weight: 178lbs
Weekly Loss: 2lbs
Total Loss: 3lbs
Best Accomplishment of the Week: I have increased my workouts a bit more, and totally staying focused on eating healthier foods, more veggies then usual.
Goal for Next Week: I'm gonna eat more fruit, I love fruit, that should be easy!!!! Goodbye 100 calorie snack packs, hello strawberries and pineapple!!
 
Dave's Update:
Current Weight: 293lbs
I had posted in WEEK 1 WEIGHT IN a mistake, (he had started dieting before this contest, so I had taken numbers from the wrong places - my appologies).
Total Loss: 29lbs
Weekly Loss: I will update this next week, I got off track on this because of last weeks mistake, again, sorry guys
Best Accomplishment of the Week: Dave has managed to stick rigth to his plan and has tried to go down a size in pants and is wanting to drop 2 sizes.
Comments: The weight loss has slowed down this week, which is expected.
 
So ths has been a good week for the both of us. This week I participated in a weekly challenge this week, of jogging/brisk walking 1 mile with 16lbs additional weight added on, I used dumbells and ankle weights, and WOW what a great workout, I didn't think I could make it half way through, but I kept telling myself the whole time, 'yOU'RE NOT STOPPING, YOU'RE GONNA FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED" and I did! I'm proud of myself for having the willpower and encouragement to stay on task and complete the challenge.
Also this week I have inspired a friend to start eating better and exercising, she wants to lose weight and after seeing how much weight I have lost in the past year she is taking up dieting now too. I'm so proud of her! And I could always use an extra workout buddy!!!

WEEK 1 WEIGHT IN!!!

1 Week has gone by, and both of us are still going strong. My teammate Dave is doing just fantastic! I am so proud of him. He's really sticking to this and doing a great job. DAVE'S PROGRESS: Current Weight: 281lbs. Thats a total weight loss of 31lbs. thus far!!! BIG TIME CONGRATS THERE BUDDY!!!! Best accomplishment of the week: Wednesday was a hard day, having to constantly resist the temptations. When your out on the road, driving, and you know you shouldn't be eating all that fast/bad/greasy/nasty foods, but they're EVERYWHERE you go, it can be hard to resist. But he did! WAY TO GO DAVE!!! WANDA'S PROGRESS: Current Weight: 180lbs. Thats a total weight loss of 1lbs. Things I feel are going slow for me right now, but I am expecting this. After already having shedded 87lbs. prior to this contest, I'm not expecting this all to melt off nowhere near as fast. I will keep this going though. Sometimes when you get on that scale and it doesn't move much, it can throw you off track, at least for me it does. I start with my, this isn't working, there's no point, lets go eat cheesecake. That's the scary part for me. Best accomplishment of the week: I kept going. . . and going . . . and going . . and going! I havn't been discourage this time with this slow weight loss. MY GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK: This week I realized, I like beer, and maybe a little too much for being on a diet! My goal for this next week (mostly just have to worry about this on the weekend) but I need to not consume more than 4 beers. This last weekend I had drink 2 nights in a row, I woke up and did an exhausting workout as my punishment to myself for over indulging - yeah, maybe this is why I hadn't lost much this week. So my plan set for this weekend is only 1 night drinking, I will be the Designated Driver, thus limiting my intake on the alcoholic beverages. WEEKLY INSPIRATION: This contest is real people, real lives, REALITY!!! We all have our little situations that affect us daily, and for me to read other blogs, and see that I'm not the only one really makes me feel better when I do have that bad moment. And reading through other blogs and seeing all this work everyone has been doing to stay fit and drop weight just gets me totally pumped and keeps me going. Sometimes things in life can get too hard, so we think, but just remember, if it's something that you really want, and you really need, it's not gonna be easy! IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE HARD, but that makes the REWARD even greater!!! Have a great week guys. Look for some new things to be added to my site this week, and I will be posting pictures next week!!!!!!

STARTING OFF GOOD!!

UPDATE!! This has thus far been a wonderful week, havn't got on the scale yet to see what progress we have made, but I feel great this week. (We will be tracking our weight loss progress - come back in just a couple of days to read all about it!) Full of energy, and like NOTHING can or will stop me! So for all you reading this out there, keep going with your plan, this is really working! I know that I'm loving the attention, and extra energy I've been getting lately! WOW, what a wonderful feeling!
